He was born in 1985 in Plovdiv Bulgaria in the family of the promonent Bulgarian luthier Philip Dobrichkov (1933-2009). Philip Genov graduated from the National School of Music and Dance "Dobrin Petkov" majoring in violin. From early school age he began making violins and mastering the luthiers craft in the studio of his grandfather. Since 2004 he entirely devoted himself to this art. Inherited to the skills and style of his grandfather, he is in charge of their studio in Plovdiv since 2008. Philip Genov makes and repares violins, violas and cellos. His instruments enjoy great succes in South America, Europe and Asia. |
